Enable your Joomla SEF Function to get more Search Engine Friendly (Joomla 1.5)

By default without enabling the search engine friendly URLs functionality Joomla! will generate URLs like this:

As you can see the default URL for the Frontpage content item includes the long URL with the component name and itemid, like this above picture.
You need to enabling this Joomla 1.5 SEF Function to get more Search Engine Friendly.

You can follow these Instructions below :

  Login to your Administrator Area

  Choose the Global Configuration option

  You will now see the SEO settings like this

  Change the "Search engine friendly URLs" checkbox from No to Yes.

  Change the "Use Apache mod_rewrite" checkbox from No to Yes.

  Change the "Add suffix to URLs" checkbox from No to Yes.

  You will now see the SEO settings like this

  Its done. You can click Save now.
